I am currently walking with someone I am very close to through a season where they are experiencing great pressure. All of us go through seasons when life seems to be getting close to crushing us, when life causes us to feel like digging a hole and hiding, when we feel like we can hardly breathe. The amazing thing about pressure is that it squeezes out the good and bad in us, but what encourages me is what God has promised in Romans 8:28, "And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them."
This we can rest in, but what is also so true is that even though we can know that scripture, it is important to have people around us who can encourage us and lift us up in the midst of the pressure. We cannot always relieve the pressure, but we can be "with" them through it. As Galatians 6:2 says, "Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ."
Pressure situations happen to us. These situations are sometimes out of our control and sometimes due to consequences for decisions we've made. Either way, pressure is pressure and someone around you needs to be encouraged and reminded that they are not alone, and that God can and will turn their circumstances into good.
