"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life," John 3:16
“LOVE." What a powerful word. What an amazingly wonderful word. What an incredible feeling. What an awesome decision. What a great sacrifice.
Love is truly all of these things, but I am also reminded how much love hurts. Love has been the sponsor of some of the most acute pain in life. How challenging love is. How risky love is. I am
so grateful that Jesus, for the sake of love, endured the cross for me. That because of love He bore my sin upon the cross and made a way for me to have a future in heaven with Him.
At the same time love is something we run from. We run from being loved. We run from having to love. It is a force that we long for, but at the same time seem to try protect ourselves from. We
don't like how vulnerable loving makes us, or how much love may cost us. But there it is. We can’t avoid it. It is as much of God’s creation as air.
Let God love you today. Let Him in and respond by extending love to someone else today.
