December 13, 2012
This year has been a very unusual Christmas. Things that usually take place have simply not
gone the way they normally do for me and my family.
Several variables have brought this about. We didn't decorate like we normally
do. House lights were put up later than usual; the tree put up a couple of weeks
later than we normally do, not to mention that for the first time in my life I
went to get the tree by myself.
No I am not having a pity party; it is just the opposite. Though the
"things" of Christmas have not been the same this year, I don't feel
any less "Christmassy.”
This year has been a good reminder that the circumstances around us can be constantly
changing, but our experience with Christmas is not solely dependent on external
circumstances but internal hope of Christmas’s true meaning.
"Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall
call His name Immanuel," which is translated, "God with us."
